INDEPENDENT COUNSEL FOR LEADERS · DUTCH CARIBBEAN

The issue is rarely the issue.

Every important decision is yours to make. But every conclusion starts from the same perspective, and the higher you rise, the harder it becomes to know what people really think.

I offer independent judgment from someone with no stake in the outcome.

“Assisting an airline in its final days to a controlled end is a tougher job than many may imagine. We have seen you pitch in where management was in need of good advice, and you delivered.”

WHAT LEADERS BRING HERE

It usually starts with a situation that keeps returning.

The same conflict keeps coming back.

A team that is not stepping up.

A shareholder, partner or key employee who has become a recurring source of friction.

A decision with significant legal or financial consequences.

People around you have stopped challenging you.

Pressure that cannot be discussed internally.

WHY IT WORKS

Different companies. Different people. The same patterns.

I am a lawyer by profession. For years, people came to me with legal problems, and my job was to solve them. But the legal issue was rarely the whole story.

Across very different organizations, the same dynamics kept appearing: the same behavior producing the same consequences. People were solving symptoms instead of causes.

Today I still advise on legal and strategic matters. The difference is that I also look at what creates the problem long before it becomes a legal one. That is where the greatest leverage is.
